Almond Florentine

Almond Florentines A delicious baked mix of almonds, candied fruit, chocolate and butter caramel... A delicacy that is jam-packed with nuts, caramel and candied fruit. Deliciously crisp and chewy.

Summer butter

Summer Butter essentially just means butter made in the summer. Winter butter is pale, because the cows are fed hay at that time of the year (though colouring such as annatto is added to the butter to compensate for that.) Summer Butter naturally has more colour in it, because the cows are eating fresh vegetation with carotene and chlorophyll in it.

Honey

Honey may be the healthiest sweeterer we know! The honey they use is a stain derived from various flowers: it's derived from sereral flowers with different origins. The advantage of this special blend is that the authentic pure honey always tastes the same and has the same colour. They also rigorously control the honey, which allows us to ban pesticides and antibiotics.

Belgian Chocolate

Jules Destrooper only uses the very best Belgian chocolate. Barry Callebaut even created a unique recipe for Jules Destrooper. With cacoa beans from America, Africa and Asia (all with the UTZ label, the quality mark for sustainable agriculture), which combine to create a very specific flavour. first they carefully weigh all the ingredients, after which they are mixed into the delicious chocolate which makes there biscuits taste so good.

Butter Crisp

The second biscuit that was added to the Jules Destrooper biscuit collection was the butter waffle. Baked according to a secret 19th-century recipe using pure butter, this well-known butter waffle was granted the official trademark 'Regional Product of Westhoek' by the VLAM (Flemish Centre for Agriculture and Fishery Marketing).

Fresh eggs

Jules Destrooper uses delicious, fresh free-range eggs. They are laid by active hens that have all the space they need and are housed in comfortable stalls with both perches and nests to lay their eggs in.

Suger

We use Tienen sugar. This pure delicacy is selected and sieved with the utmost of care. It also dissolves very quickly and is very soft, so it is the ideal sugar to use in biscuits.

Almond thins

This fine almond biscuit was the beginning of Jules Destrooper's success.

Almond thins are often confused with speculoos in recipe books. These biscuits are closely related as they share a lot of ingredients. The biscuit dough that is formed with these ingredients must rest in a cool place overnight. The day after, it should be cut into very thin slices and baked.

Valencia Almonds

Almond trees are resilient and have a long lifespan. Roman farmers already knew that this tree thirived in hard, dry soil. Valencia almonds owe their unique taste to this soil. SIgnificantly sweeter than their American relatives, the Californian almonds.

Butter Waffle

A crispy waffle with pure butter and vanilla flavour. These delicious vanilla waffles were created by Jules Destrooper, but were only added to the Jules Destrooper biscuit collection much later.

Vanilla

Flexible, fleshy, jet black, scented, glossy and very soft. You can feel the excellent quality of Bourbon vanilla pods at the very first touch. This spice, originating from the biological cultivation of the vanilla orchid in Madagascar, releases much more flavour than the generally dry pods you get from the market. You notice it with the very first mouthful of your Jules Destrooper delicacy!

Virtuoso

Indonesian cinnamon and fine Belgian patisserie chocolate create this tasty biscuit with a refined flavour. This delicious cinnamon biscuit, finished with white lines, will seduce even the most experienced connoisseurs.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon from Indonesia is a spice with exceptional healing qualities. It is obtained from the rich shoots of the cinnamon tree. The bark from the shoots is removed so that only the inner husk remains. This husk then rolls up by itself during drying and so becomes the familiar cinnamon stick. They are special because they only release their full flavour when they are cooked.
