Ardbeg Islay single malt whisky

One of the most peated whiskeys

Ardbeg is one of the three still active distilleries on the south coast of the island of Islay.

The origins of the distillery can be traced back to the year 1794 . Back then Ardbeg distillery was illegal, but the production had to be stopped after a raid by customs officers, who watch in Scotland on excise taxes. The legal distillery was founded by John McDougall, probably in 1815
